Swimming Pool Discharges (B6)

This master general permit authorizes discharges to a surface waterbody from the draining of pool water and/or filter backwash from any municipal, commercial, non-residential or community (e.g., townhouses and condominiums) swimming pools. Discharges will be allowed into surface waters of the state, except into receiving waters classified as FW1, Pinelands and certain Shellfish waters. In addition, the discharge of filter backwash water to Category 1 designated receiving waters is NOT permitted.

Applicants must request authorization to be covered under this general permit by submitting a completed and signed application electronically to at least seven (7) calendar days prior to discharge.
