Middlesex County Utility Authority – Electric Vehicle Charging Stations East Brunswick, NJ

 

Middlesex County Utility Authority(MCUA) operates a power generating station consisting of two combustion turbines and two duct-fired heat recovery steam generators . During 2019 and 2020, on various dates, the sulfur content in fuel exceeded the operating permit allowable.  In settlement of the violations, the utility paid $18,800 in penalty and provided $23,973 funding for a supplemental environmental project for East Brunswick Township that included the purchase, installation, and maintenance of 2 dual-port Electric Vehicle charging stations located at a municipal lot at 4 Harts Lane. Installation was completed on March 22, 2022.
