PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE ON BLACK BEAR MANAGEMENT

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
NATURAL AND HISTORIC RESOURCES

Notice of opportunity for public input on the management of the State's black bear population.


Take notice that the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is seeking public input on black bear management in the State of New Jersey, including black bear preservation and management goals, the various means by which the preservation and management goals may be accomplished, and the factors to be considered in determining which means should be implemented to achieve those goals.

Two documents are available for review below. Comments may be submitted via mail or emailed directly to the DEP by August 15, 2007. See the table below for the documents and details on how comments may be submitted.

Also note that a public meeting on black bear management in the State of New Jersey was held on August 8, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. at the New Jersey State Museum, 205 West State Street, Trenton, New Jersey.
