Who should come? Teachers, families,
nature enthusiasts, environmental and watershed associations, and just about
anyone else! You don’t need to be a professional naturalist, only willing to
learn.
Why me? The herp atlas is fun, free and your effort is desperately
needed to help protect these species.
What is the Herp Atlas? The atlas
is a volunteer-based effort to save our state’s reptiles and amphibians (herps).
Participants select an area and survey for herps. The information will be used
to determine distribution and population for these species statewide and will
be instrumental for their long-term protection.
What is the training seminar about? Participants will learn how to
survey for and identify New Jersey’s reptiles and amphibians. In addition, you
can select your survey area and get a map.
