The lotteries were conducted and award notifications were sent out to all applicants for both the Special Area Deer Season Permits and all Fall Turkey Season Permits.

Over-the-Counter Sales of general deer permits, leftover lottery permits and all Farmer Permits began Monday, October 6. Permits can be purchased at either a license agent or via the online license sale site.

DEER PERMITS:

LOTTERY ZONES: The only Special Area that will have permits available for OTC sales is Fort Dix, Zone 37. All other Special Area Lottery Zones were only available to those who applied for and won permits in the lottery. There will be no sale of leftover permits for any other lottery zones.

Hunters are reminded that all zone specific permits are valid only for harvesting antlerless deer - if you wish to harvest a buck during the permit bow, permit shotgun or permit muzzleloader periods you must purchase a buck permit for the season in which you want to hunt. Buck permits are not zone specific, and must be used in conjunction with the zone specific antlerless permits.

Buck Permit Sales:
If you purchase an Antlerless permit PRIOR to the start of the season, and wish to harvest a buck, you must purchase the Antlered Buck Permit by the date indicated below. You cannot purchase the Antlered Buck Permit once the season has begun if you have already purchased an antlerless permit for that season.

Antlered Buck Permit - Bow - November 1, 2008
Antlered Buck Permit - Muzzleloader - December 1, 2008
Antlered Buck Permit - Shotgun - December 17, 2008

NOTE: If you are purchasing your FIRST Antlerless permit(s) AFTER the season has begun, and wish to harvest a buck, you must purchase your Antlered Buck Permit(s) for that season in the SAME SALES TRANSACTION AS THE ANTLERLESS PERMIT(S). YOU CANNOT RETURN AND PURCHASE IT LATER.

FALL TURKEY PERMITS:
Leftover Fall Turkey Permits are available for Turkey Hunting Areas 1 - 11 and 20. Turkey Hunting Area 21 sold out in the lottery, there are no permits available. Turkey Hunting Areas 12, 14, 15, 16 and 22 are closed for the Fall Season.

Hunters are reminded that Deer Zones and Turkey Hunting Areas are not the same. The Fall Turkey Season is Monday, October 27 - Saturday, November 1, 2008.
