The NJ DEP Division of Fish and Wildlife will open the Spring Turkey Permit Application Period on Monday, January 25, 2010. Applications can be made either on-line using the online license and permit Web site or by going to any license agent. The application period remains open until 11:59 pm on February 22, 2010, and applicants can review and edit their applications online until the application period closes.

Turkey hunters are advised that changes have been made to certain Turkey Hunting Area (Zone) boundaries and the format (length and structure) of the Spring Turkey Season. Complete details can be found on pages 63-64 in the 2009 Hunting Issue of the Fish and Wildlife Digest.

Award notification and the ability to claim Awarded Permits will begin on Monday, March 8. Successful lottery applicants will only have from March 8 until March 28 at 11:59 pm to claim their awarded permits. Any unclaimed permits WILL BE FORFEITED and become available for sale during the over-the-counter sales.

Qualified farmers can claim their Spring Turkey farmer permit beginning March 8.

Leftover and unclaimed Spring Turkey Permits will go on sale TUESDAY, March 30 at 10:00 a.m. These permits will be available on a first come, first served basis until either the season ends or the permit quota is met, whichever comes first. Permits will be available for sale at all license agents and on the internet sales website.
