The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife reminds hunters that the Fall Turkey Season Permit Application period opened on August 1 and will close at 11:59 pm on August 31, 2011. Applications can be made at any license agent or on-line. Fall Turkey Season is Saturday, October 29 to Saturday, November 5, 2011.

Successful applicants will be notified during the week of September 12. Applicants can review their lottery application and see lottery results at https://nj.aspirafocus.com/internetsales/. Hunters can change the area they apply for prior to the close of the application period.

Successful applicants must claim awarded permits prior to the 11:59 p.m. deadline on Sunday, October 2. All unclaimed permits will be returned to the quota and become available on a first come first serve basis for over the counter sales. There are no exceptions.

All leftover and unclaimed permits will be available on a first come first serve basis beginning at 10:00 a.m. on TUESDAY, October 4. Leftover permits can be purchased at license agent and/or at https://nj.aspirafocus.com/internetsales/. Permits will be available as long as the permit supply lasts or the season ends. If you decide to use the Internet you cannot print the permits from home. They must be mailed, and can take 7 - 10 business days (additional shipping charges apply).

FALL TURKEY INFORMATION:

Fall Turkey Season is open for the following Turkey Hunting Areas only: 1-5, 8, 9, 11 and 20-22.

New for 2011: The NJ Fish and Game Council has changed the boundary for Turkey Hunting Area 22. Turkey Hunting Area 22 is now larger and contains what was some of the southern parts of Turkey Hunting Area 16. Please refer to the Turkey Hunting Area descriptions in the 2011 Wild Turkey Hunting Season Information Booklet for details. This change will open the productive southern parts of Turkey hunting Area 16 to fall turkey hunting.
