Comment on Proposed Trout Policy and 2014 Spring Trout StockingUpdated February 25, 2014 Public Meeting on Trout Stocking Program March 8 The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife and Fish and Game Council are inviting comment on the proposed policy regarding management of the bacterial disease furunculosis, which occurred this past fall at the Pequest Trout Hatchery, as well as a proposal to alter Spring trout stocking in order to protect the state’s trout resources. As a result of the furunculosis outbreak, the Division is proposing changes to the spring 2014 stocking schedule that differ from that published in the NJ Freshwater Fishing Digest. A public meeting to discuss these topics will be held on February 22, 2014 at the Batsto Village Visitor Center at 10 a.m. at the Batsto Village Visitor Center, Batsto Rd. #9, Hammonton NJ 08037 in Wharton State Forest in Burlington County.
