Hooked on Fishing-Not on Drugs Training In May
Hooked on Fishing-Not on Drugs Training Workshop The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife in partnership with Duke Farms will be hosting a free 2-day Hooked on Fishing-Not on Drugs (HOFNOD) training for educators and adults interested in offering an ongoing or year-round youth fishing, conservation and aquatic education program. HOFNOD is geared for school-aged youth, making it an ideal program for schools, youth-centered community and/or faith-based organizations looking to provide positive outdoor recreation and developing life skills. Training participants will be responsible for delivering the program to youth from beginning to end. Organizations that participate in the program are eligible to receive: additional professional development in conservation education and angling skills, in-kind support for program materials and supplies including subsidized educational field trips. Supplemental training and recreational opportunities can be requested. Space is limited. To register, complete the online form linked below, e-mail or print and return to: Liz Jackson, HOFNOD CoordinatorYour participation includes: breakfast and lunch both days, dinner Saturday evening and all workshop materials. Dinner is on your own Friday night. Dress for the weather as some activities will be outside. Once your registration is received, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to you. Optional: bring binoculars, a bike and your freshwater fishing gear.
This is a rain or shine training and registration is required.
You must also possess a current NJ fishing license.
