State Record Cobia Caught (Spearfishing Category)

The Division has announced that Joe Cunningham of Cape May Courthouse made his way onto the state spearfishing record fish list recently by landing a new state record Cobia on August 11.

Joe was free diving off Sea Isle City when he got the fish. The fish weighed 74 pounds, 5 ounces and was 14 pounds, 5 ounces pounds more than the previous record. The new record cobia measured 56 inches in length and had a girth of 29 inches.
