Richard Frankenfield's Previous State Record Freshwater Striped Bass

Richard Frankenfield's previous record striped bass

Imagine previous record holder Patrick Lilly's feelings when his friend Richard Frankenfield topped his state record striper on May 26, 2001, with a fish slightly longer and weighing a pound and a half more! Richard's fish also came from the Delaware River, about seven miles north of Phillipsburg. He landed the bass on 25-pound test line using an eel as bait. The new record striper measured just under 45½ inches, had a girth of 26½ inches and weighed 36 pounds, 8 ounces. See the Record Freshwater Fish page for the current record holder.

Congratulations Richard!
