Abstract:

The Site Remediation Program (SRP) - Preferred ID points represent active sites within SRP. These sites include all sites that are regulated under the Site Remediation Reform Act (SRRA), N.J.S.A. 58:10C-1 et seq. The NJDEP New Jersey Environmental Management System (NJEMS) serves as the database that supplies the coordinates and descriptive attributes from several tables used to generate this GIS layer. This layer is produced primarily for the NJDEP's online interactive mapping web applications and ArcGIS (ArcView, ArcInfo) users. The original location for the SRP Preferred ID is copied from the NJEMS (Masterfile) location. SRP may establish a different point to better reflect the SRP area of concern at the site. Users should note that not every SRP preferred ID in NJEMS has an established coordinate (GPS or otherwise). NJDEP is continually working to acquire these with GPS, location data submitted to permitting programs, and through address matching techniques.

Purpose:

This layer was developed to assist in identifying and interacting with SRP sites with NJDEP's online mapping applications.

For additional information, try the following: Copy the "PREF_ID_NUM " value from the Query/Selection Results. Next, use NJDEP's Data Miner online reporting tool at <https://datamine2.state.nj.us/dep/DEP_OPRA> . On this page, use the "Search for Regulated Sites by ID Number " query tool. Select "Site Remediation" in the program dropdown and in the "Program Interest ID" window, enter the "PI Number" from above. Once the record is displayed, select the "report" column dropdown and select "SRP Site Detail". The Site Detail Report will contain a CEA Fact Sheet and Case Oversight reports. If it turns out that the KCSL GIS layer does not have a point at or adjacent to the CEA, try the Data Miner "Search for Regulated Sites by Name" or sites by location. The PI number needed to get the additional data is available in both reports. Reporting Errors For questions or to report errors related to this GIS dataset contact: SRPGIS@dep.nj.gov The subject line of the email must include PI number noted above and the words "PI Location question" or "PI Location Error". The body of the email should have the PI name, address and town, the name and contact information for the person reporting or questioning and all the necessary details regarding the error and question.

All available NJDEP public GIS data can be downloaded for free. Some data shown in NJGeoWeb application may not yet be available for download due to various data or distribution issues. Please email gisnet@dep.nj.gov with any data distribution questions.

Custom_Order_Process:

The NJDEP may distribute GIS data in a variety of formats, such as the ESRI shapefile and/or various versions of the file geodatabase format. The data also may be available for viewing on various profiles of the NJ GeoWeb online mapping application.
Note: Some older NJDEP data may not contain .prj files due to distribution procedures at that time. If download does not contain a .prj, please download from:
https://www.nj.gov/dep/gis/njsp83.zip
Please rename .prj to the name of the downloadable filename. (for example: If Head of Tides filename is HOT.shp, please rename .prj to HOT.prj). This allows ESRI software to recognize the projection information.
