Water Quality Restoration Grants

Purpose of Funding
Provide grants to reduce water quality impairment through implementation of nonpoint source (NPS) pollution control projects  

Application Deadline February 10, 2020
Notification Date As published in the current fiscal year's request for proposals and grant guidance document, available on the Department's Web site.
Total to be Distributed Up to approximately $3,500,000

Federal Clean Water Act Section 319(h), 205(j), 303(e), and 604(b)
(33 U.S.C. §§ 1251 et seq.)
N.J.S.A. 13:1D-9 (DEP Enabling Act)
N.J.S.A. 58:10A-1 et seq., specifically N.J.S.A. 58:10A-5(e) (Water Pollution Control Act)

Who is Eligible
State, regional and local government agencies or units, County planning departments or boards, health departments, designated water quality management planning agencies, State universities and colleges, Interstate agencies of which New Jersey is a member, and watershed and water resource associations and other local nonprofit organizations.

Qualifications Required for Consideration
Applicants must submit a project that meets the administrative requirement, objectives and project criteria as outlined in the Water Quality Restoration grant guidelines available for the current  fiscal year.

Bee Meadow Pond Shoreline Restoration Project Grant/Loan Limitations
The amount varies by need. The 319(h) and 604(b) awards are limited to eligible costs and requirements as defined in the 319(h) and 604(b) grant guidelines.

Application Procedures
