ATTENDEES MAY SUBMIT RESUMES, LEARN ABOUT CAREER OPPORTUNTIES

(16/18) TRENTON – College students interested in career or internship opportunities with the Department of Environmental Protection are encouraged to attend a recruitment fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 8 in the Public Hearing Room at the DEP Headquarters Building, 401 East State Street, in Trenton.

Staff from every program area of the DEP will be on hand to discuss entry-level opportunities and internships across a variety of fields and disciplines. Representatives from Environmental Justice, Department of Information Technology, Human Resources, the Division of Science, Research and Environmental Health, and the Ambassadors Watershed Program also will be available to explain the different program areas and myriad career options available with DEP.

“The College Recruitment Fair is an opportunity to show young people that the DEP has many opportunities available for both career choices and internships,” said DEP Commissioner Bob Martin. “Our staff looks forward to engaging the next generation of scientists and engineers about the different program areas within DEP, and how their contributions to the environmental sciences can make a difference in the lives of others, and in serving the State of New Jersey.”

Attendees can learn about opportunities in 20 different areas, ranging from clerical positions to human resources, budgeting, engineering, software development, State Park Police, and many others.

Advance registration for the fair is not required. Attendees will register upon arrival and submit their resume. They also are encouraged to submit copies of their resume to their specific program areas of interest.
