Barnegat Bay Initiative (7 Million)
Wetland Habitat loss and non-point pollution from impervious surfaces are significant impacts contributing to the degredation of water quality in Barnegat Bay estuary. Restoring wetlands in the estuary, addressing sources of water pollution, and implementing other projects contemplated by the Barnegat Bay Initiative offers the greatest potential for water quality improvements and ecological uplift in Barnegat Bay. Use of the MTBE recoveries for these purposes is appropriate.
