Chemical Leaman Tank Lines Land Acquisitions

The State of NJ (ONRR) and the U.S. Department of Interior (DOI) settled natural resource injury with Chemical Leaman Tank Lines superfund site located in Logan Township, Gloucester County, NJ in 2000. 

Moneys from the Consent Decree have been held by the State of NJ to be spent for the purchase of and restoration, restoration planning, implementation, oversight and monitoring of wetlands and associated uplands.  Pursuant to a Memorandum of Agreement between DOI and NJ, the US Fish and Wildlife Service and NJ as trustees shall mutually agree on land acquisitions.  To date, the State of NJ has acquired 6 properties under this injury, which occurred in Watershed Management Area 18.
