Salem River Boat Ramp

LOCATION: Route 540 approximately .85 miles heading south from Route 40, Mannington Township, in Salem County along the Salem River.

FUNDING:  The boat ramp was installed as required in the 2005 ground water natural resource damage DuPont Settlement with NJDEP.  DuPont paid for the design and construction costs.

PROJECT SUMMARY:  The boat ramp was installed along with a canoe/kayak launch, parking improvements (including handicap parking, signage, fencing and guardrail), a clearance height restriction bar to prevent tractor trailers, rip rap along the river, and trees/plantings along the southeast side of the parking area.  A light pole was also installed with a timer/motion sensor in order to provide visible access to the boat ramp.
