Firewise Grants

Wildfire Risk Reduction – Community Firewise Grants
This NJ Forest Fire Service grant program delivers Wildfire Risk Reduction funding to organizations on a local level. Funding targets hazardous wildland fuel mitigation projects and outreach including:

  • Activities associated with Firewise Communities USA designation.
  • Hazard mitigation activities - cutting trees, shrubs, branches, and reduction of fuels that could contribute to a wildfire.
  • Training of community Firewise liaisons in wildfire preparedness.
  • Outreach and awareness activities to other community members.
