On August 8, 2019, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) received PennEast Pipeline Company, LLC’s application for land use permits seeking authorization to impact freshwater wetlands, flood hazard areas and riparian zones over the length of the proposed pipeline.
On September 4, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection notified the PennEast Pipeline Company that its application for the construction of a natural gas pipeline is not administratively complete. In the letter, the DEP states “the Department has determined that all necessary information required for a complete application has not been provided and/or one or more submitted items are deficient.” The DEP has requested the additional information in 30 days. On September 11, the PennEast Pipeline Company, LLC resubmitted their application to DEP. The application is under review for administrative completeness.
While the Department will be providing a 60-day written comment period that would begin upon a determination that the application is administratively complete, the Department will accept and consider any comments provided prior to the start of the formal comment period as part of its administrative record on the application.
