Open Forum Discussion on Competency Based Clinical Education
The New Jersey Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners (Board) is holding an open forum discussion on Competency Based Clinical Education in conjunction with the annual meeting of the New Jersey Society of Radiologic Technologists on February 19, 2009. The purpose of this Forum is to review the Board's current Competency Based Clinical Education Standard for students enrolled in New Jersey approved radiography programs and to discuss recent program survey results regarding availability of radiologic procedures for students to demonstrate clinical competency. Comments collected from this event will be reviewed by the Board for future revision of this Standard and shared with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
The Board would appreciate the participation of radiography educators, licensed radiologic technologists, radiology department administrators/supervisors and students as it determines the future direction of clinical education in order to meet the entry-level competencies and expectations of radiology facilities. - Purpose and Guidelines
- History of Competency Based Clinical Education
- Presentation of the Board's "Clinical Procedure Survey" Results
- Comments regarding the survey and future direction of clinical education in New Jersey
