Notice of Extension of Comment Period
Surface Water Quality Standards, N.J.A.C. 7:9B

PUBLIC NOTICE
Take notice that, pursuant to N.J.A.C. 7:1D-5.1(a), the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (Department) is extending the comment period on the proposal of amendments to the Surface Water Quality Standards, N.J.A.C. 7:9B, to upgrade 749 river miles to Category One (C1) antidegradation designation based on exceptional ecological significance and exceptional fisheries resource.  The Department is additionally proposing to reclassify waters based on trout sampling data and to make other administrative changes to correct or clarify rule language. (see 50 N.J.R. 308(a)).  The proposal was published in the New Jersey Register on March 4, 2019.

The proposal indicated that written comments may be submitted by May 3, 2019. The public comment period is extended until Monday, June 3, 2019.

The Department encourages electronic submittal of comments. Submit comments electronically at www.nj.gov/dep/rules/comments.  Each comment should be identified by the applicable N.J.A.C. citation, with the commenter's name and affiliation following the comment.
