This site is sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). It is maintained by the DEP's Environmental Education Program in the Office of Communications.
The purpose of the site is to support and promote the state's activities related to the annual celebrations of Environmental Education Week and Earth Day (April 22). This two-month period of heightened public awareness (April-May) provides an annual springboard to highlight new and ongoing opportunities for environmental learning and stewardship amongst all ages. This website also serves to promote and/or link with other Environmental Education Week and Earth Day efforts being hosted throughout the state.
This site is an ongoing component of SEEDS, DEP's Environmental Education Directory. It is modified at the beginning of each year depending on the state's environmental priorities and the activities of the state's communities, schools and businesses, and is maintained throughout the spring.
