Deputy Chief of Staff - Legislative Affairs
Colleen Schulz-Eskow is Deputy Chief of Staff for the New Jersey Department of Education. She provides direction and guidance to the offices of Legislative Affairs, and Charter and Renaissance Schools.
Her expertise in legislative strategy and policy development makes Ms. Schulz-Eskow integral to advancing NJDOE 2.0, a student-focused service agency promoting academic excellence.
Ms. Schulz-Eskow has been with NJDOE since 2001 and has served in a variety of roles, including Planning Associate for the Office of Charter Schools, Manager of New Schools Development, Acting Director for the Office of Legislative, and External Affairs and Director of Government Affairs.
Prior to joining NJDOE, she worked for: the New Jersey General Assembly in a research capacity; the New Jersey Department of State in constituent relations, and; The Center for Youth Policy and Programs.
Ms. Schulz-Eskow has a bachelor’s degree in political science and a Master of Public Affairs and Politics, both from Rutgers University. She attended Douglass College as an undergraduate and the Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. She was also a Fellow at the Eagleton Institute of Politics’ undergraduate and graduate programs.
Ms. Schulz-Eskow and her family live in Hamilton, New Jersey – Mercer County.
