2020 NJDOE Statewide Conference

The Office of Professional Learning, in partnership with the Long Branch Public School District, cordially invites you to join us for the New Jersey Department of Education’s (NJDOE) second annual statewide equity event, “Equity in Action: Strengthening Teaching, Leading and Learning in Unprecedented Times – A Virtual Unconference.” This virtual event will be held August 4, 2020 from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.

The virtual unconference is designed to respond to inequities brought to light during the pandemic, place a greater focus on tangible strategies for educators to implement immediately, and influence the equity and social justice work that is rapidly growing statewide. There will be various sessions in which participants will interact and engage in dialogue and courageous conversations with other educators across the state to share and exchange practical ideas about equity and participate in self-care wellness sessions.

New Jersey consistently ranks among the top states in education, which is attributed to the excellence found within our schools. The event will feature practicing educators and will be an experience that utilizes the unconference format. An unconference is a loosely structured conference emphasizing the informal exchange of information and ideas between participants, rather than following a conventionally structured program of events, like a workshop. We hope you will consider joining us virtually to participate in these critical conversations. The unconference will offer sessions that are specified for district, school and classroom level roles.
