To ensure efficiency in the certification process, the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) will be moving to a fully electronic certification process. As of February 1, 2021, the NJDOE will no longer accept paper documents for certification purposes. As we gradually move to a fully electronic process, there may be delays in processing paper documents.
Please email any letters, copies of out-of-state certification or other required documents directly to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please have your university, college, school or clearinghouse email electronic transcripts or the Verification of Program Completion Form directly to email@example.com.
If you have previously mailed documents to our office after November 4, 2020, please resend them using the above electronic process. Your application will then be expedited in the order in which they were mailed.
If you have any questions, please contact us at Licensing.Requests@doe.nj.gov or call us at 609-292-2070.
As of May 15, 2015, paper certificates are no longer issued. All information about certificates is now available Teacher Certification Information System including certificate name, certificate ID number, date of issuance, and expiration date if applicable.
