MULLICA TWP (01-3480)

The Mullica Township School District is a Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 8 district serving approximately 750 students. The district has two schools, a primary school and a middle school, housed in one facility. In past years, two separate principals provided oversight for the respective schools. This year, the administrative staff has been reorganized, allowing for one principal and one vice principal to provide educational leadership for the entire building. The district offers a full-day four-year-old preschool program and a full-day kindergarten program.
For the past decade, Mullica Township has embraced the opportunity to embark in a shared service agreement with the Washington Township School District in Burlington County. Washington Township consists of a single school (Green Bank) which services approximately 40 students in Pre-Kindergarten to Grade Four. Students in grades 5 through 8 attend Mullica through a send-receive relationship, providing Green Bank students with a more well-rounded middle school experience. The shared service agreement also includes administrative services as well as Child Study Team services.
The educational program offered at Mullica Township is based on the belief that children are both willing to learn and capable of learning. Every child is given the opportunity to reach his or her full potential through a variety of program offerings built around a strong academic curriculum aligned with the Common Core Standards and the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards. Extra-curricular activities include sports, clubs, and a variety of field trips. A tremendous opportunity for additional programming outside of the normal school day is found through the Academic and Community Enrichment program. ACE is funded by a federal grant. ACE offers students an opportunity to participate in many after-school programs designed to enhance creativity in a fun and enriching learning environment.
The district continues to place tremendous importance on meeting the Common Core Standards for both English Language Arts and Mathematics, while challenging students in all academic areas. Every staff member has been trained to implement Student Growth Objectives. Baseline data informs instructional decisions while summative data sources determine student growth. The use of technology to enhance instruction and explore learning activities remains an important goal for the Mullica Township School District. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (S.T.E.M.) are integrated in the curriculum.
Finally, the district will remain vigilant regarding the importance of student attendance. Student attendance begins with the knowledge that every child deserves the opportunity to participate in a safe and secure learning environment, and ends with our original belief, “that all children can and will learn” when given the opportunity.
With respect,
