River Dell Regional High School

River Dell Regional High School serves the northern New Jersey municipalities of Oradell and River Edge, which have a combined population of approximately 18,000. We are a socially and economically diverse community enriched by close proximity to the resources and cultural opportunities of New York City.
River Dell was named a United States Department of Education Blue Ribbon School of Excellence and has won several Best Practice Awards from the New Jersey Department of Education for our innovative programs. New Jersey Monthly magazine has also listed us among the top seventy-five schools in the state, and River Dell is also among the top 1000 schools in the country according to Newsweek magazine.

Our curriculum supports the New Jersey Core Content Standards, providing students with programs that meet the needs of all learners. There are many advanced placement courses and the school has a partnership with Syracuse University's Project Advance that enables students to enroll in college courses at the high school and receive college credit. Furthermore, many of our seniors participate in internships as well as community service.
River Dell supports the social/emotional needs of its students by offering an extensive peer leadership program that assists freshmen in adjusting to the high school. Another program, Teen PEP, developed by the Princeton Center for Peer Leadership and the New Jersey Department of Health, is aimed at reducing risky teenage behaviors.
