Manalapan High School

Manalapan High School is a fully accredited comprehensive high school serving a community of nearly 39,000 residents living primarily in the Township of Manalapan and the Borough of Englishtown. One of six high schools in the Freehold Regional High School District, which opened in 1971, Manalapan High School has enjoyed an outstanding reputation throughout the state for its academic and extracurricular programs. Over the past two school years, Manalapan High School earned the honors of Newsweek Magazine's list of America's Top 500 Schools, ranked in the top 100 of the state by New Jersey Monthly Magazine, and was rated in the top 10% of America's Most Challenging High Schools by the Washington Post.

Manalapan High School maintains a well-deserved reputation for excellence because of its exceptional students. Last year, ninety-five percent of graduates went on to further their education at two or four year colleges or universities; additionally, other graduates attended trade or technical schools and entered the military. SAT scores exceed state and national mean scores, and the academic program consistently produces students who are able to demonstrate success at some of the finest colleges and universities in the nation. In the National Merit Scholarship Program, the Class of 2015 produced 13 commended students. Additionally, the Class of 2015 received over 17.5 million dollars in scholarships, grants, and other financial awards.

The Freehold Regional High School District offers an extensive and comprehensive curriculum to all of our students. A great deal of emphasis is placed on the infusion of technology into all aspects of the academic program. In addition, Advanced Placement courses are offered in English, American and European History, Calculus, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Computer Science, World Languages, Economics, Statistics, Studio Art, US Government and Politics, and Psychology. The Class of 2015 had 23 Advanced Placement (AP) Scholars who showed outstanding college-level achievement while still in high school.

Manalapan High School's dedicated staff is committed to excellence in the classroom. They bring to their profession a dynamic and enthusiastic approach to education that encourages student growth and achievement. Continuous and timely professional development programs help ensure that instructional practices within the classroom setting readily prepare students for success in the twenty-first century. Furthermore, the Manalapan High School Community continuously endeavors to help all students reach their fullest potential both in and out of the classroom.

Manalapan High School's commitment to excellence extends to the athletic fields and to extracurricular activities, as well. The gymnasium walls proudly adorn banners from our Divisional, Conference, and State Championship titles. Additionally, the school has been presented with the NJSIAA School Sportsmanship Award, which serves to highlight the high expectations that our students meet both as athletes and spectators. Over fifty different clubs, activities, and service organizations provide for the diverse interests of virtually all students. The drama department, school yearbook, literary magazine, and school newspaper continually win awards at local, state, and national levels. Members of the Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) have also distinguished themselves in state and national competitions. The chess team, math team, science team, and marching band, continuously bring recognition to our school.

In 2015, under the leadership of the Student Government and Class Councils, our students continued to raise funds for various humanitarian causes. Additionally, the Manalapan Chapter of the National Honor Society, offered tutoring services, sponsored an annual food drive, and volunteered its services throughout the local and greater community.

The staff, students, parents, and other members of the Manalapan High School Community embrace the philosophy that "We are Manalapan High School and this is OUR HOUSE!" This philosophy emphasizes that we, as a school community, maintain pride in our school and strive towards academic excellence while taking the time to enjoy the curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular opportunities that our school has to offer.
