Belvidere, Harmony, Hope and White

The 2014-2015 school year was a successful year at the Belvidere School District. Our cluster which is comprised of Belvidere, Harmony, Hope and White (the "Cluster") continue to work together with stakeholders to ensure the best possible educational experience for our students. Student achievement has been at the forefront of all of our education initiatives. Our district has worked this year to promote our student achievements and recognize the quality work of our teachers and staff.

The Belvidere School District and the Harmony Township School share the services of the Superintendent. This gives both districts the opportunity to share educational ideas, curriculum goals, and insight to better serve both school districts for a better education. In working within the Cluster, the Belvidere School District is at a great advantage wherein we are able to coordinate our efforts to replicate the services and resources of a much larger school district. Through our efforts, we have been able to introduce academic offerings in all of the areas, including math, science and technology, and continue to align our programs of study with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. Our district continues to expand our offerings throughout K-12, and we are in the process of revising our entire curriculum. We continue to work as a cluster to have a more uniform curriculum. Representatives of each Cluster Board of Education holds a position on the Belvidere Board of Education, and are able to discuss the common issues of growth, and the impact of growth on each school district.

The Belvidere School District transitioned to the Google Apps for Education Platform (GAFE) by including Cloud-Based Learning into our everyday approach to instruction.

Our objective for the upcoming year is to increase the academic rigor in our classes and to continue to prepare our students for their college life experience.

Students within the Belvidere Cluster continue to excel in all academic areas in achievement tests. The success further reflects the strength of our Pre-K through 8 programs in our Cluster. Belvidere has scored well on the state performance assessments, and is competitive with our comparable schools.

The goal of our district is to enhance the educational experience of our students, and nurture them to become successful adults. Working with parents, teachers, administrators, the Board of Education, and members of the community will help achieve this. We have students that are committed to learning, and dedicated faculty and parents who support education. Together, as a community, we have the power to assist students by increasing their knowledge, skills, and confidence through a valuable education that transforms them beyond their own expectations.
