TRENTON - Governor Phil Murphy today ordered that the U.S. and New Jersey flags be flown at half-staff at all state buildings and facilities from Tuesday, October 22, 2019, through Friday, October 25, 2019, in recognition of the passing of U.S. Representative Elijah E. Cummings.
"A model of dignity and strength, Elijah Cummings' upbringing in a segregated Baltimore led him on a lifelong mission to promote justice, to always speak truth to power, and to ensure a fair shake for every American," said Governor Murphy. "His loss isn't just one for his Maryland constituents, or for his colleagues in Congress, but for our entire nation."
