Statement by Governor Murphy on the Impeachment of President Trump

"President Trump has been impeached because he abused our Constitution, abused his office, and abused our foreign policy to benefit himself.

"It is a clear and textbook example of why the framers gave the House the power to impeach. This is not a time for anyone to celebrate. It is a solemn act to impeach a president. And, it is a time for us to reflect on how far away from our core American values and principles our national politics has moved in just three years, and to remember that one year from now we will have the chance to put it back right."
