Governor Phil Murphy Announces $10 Million in Funding for Phase 3 of Sustain & Serve NJ Program
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced an additional $10 million in funding to support the creation of a third phase of the Sustain & Serve NJ Program, bringing the total program funding to nearly $45 million.
“Sustain & Serve offers a creative approach to supporting both restaurants impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic as well as those who struggle with food insecurity,” said Governor Murphy. “This program is truly a win-win, offering aid to restaurants to keep their doors open and retain staff while helping to get much needed meals to individuals and families struggling to put food on the table.”

Open Enrollment Period for Get Covered New Jersey Begins Nov. 1, With Record Levels of Financial Help Available to Make Health Insurance More Affordable
The Murphy Administration announced that the Affordable Care Act Open Enrollment Period at Get Covered New Jersey (GetCovered.NJ.gov), will begin Monday, Nov. 1st, with more plan choices and record levels of financial help available to make health insurance more affordable.
“Open enrollment is the one time of year residents who do not have health insurance through an employer or other program can enroll in a plan. This year, because of the work of the Biden Administration and our state, we will continue to offer historic levels of financial help to improve access to quality, affordable health coverage,” said Governor Phil Murphy. “Our administration continues to be guided by our belief that health care is a basic human right. We opened our own health insurance marketplace, following attacks on health care by the former federal administration, to improve access to coverage and care. With the expanded financial help available, we want to ensure as many people as possible get covered. We encourage residents in need of health insurance to prepare for the start of open enrollment, and to spread the word to family and friends who may need coverage.”

NJ TRANSIT Enhances Rail Service With 36 Additional Trains
Beginning Sunday, November 14, NJ TRANSIT adds nearly two dozen weekday trains and makes other important adjustments to the schedule to offer rail customers additional travel options throughout the system. Customers will see additional trains and additional express service on select lines, as well as improved trip times and connections.
“As rail ridership grows and commuting patterns continue to evolve, NJ TRANSIT is committed to delivering a schedule that improves travel times and frequency aligned with customer demand,” said NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kevin S. Corbett. “Now that we have a full roster of locomotive engineers, we are able to support these kinds of service enhancements to meet the needs of our customers as they return to our system.”

New Jersey Wind Port Wins Strategic Infrastructure Project of the Year Award
The New Jersey Wind Port has been awarded the “Strategic Infrastructure Project of the Year” award at CG/LA Infrastructure’s 13th Annual North America Infrastructure Leadership Forum. This award, together with the significant interest from global companies in leasing space at the Wind Port, confirms the offshore wind industry’s strong and sustained interest in partnering with the State to turn New Jersey into an internationally recognized offshore wind hub that will drive economic growth and job creation for decades to come.

New Jersey Secretary of State and Division of Elections Provide Important Dates on Election Results Certification Process
In an effort to ensure the public and media have a comprehensive understanding of the vote-counting and election-certification process, The New Jersey Secretary of State and the Division of Elections are providing the following information regarding the 2021 election:
“New Jersey voters had three options to cast a vote in this election: vote by mail, in person early voting, and in person Election Day voting,” said New Jersey Secretary of State Tahesha Way. “County election officials are working diligently to ensure all votes are counted. Once all votes have been counted, the counties will provide the results to the state in order to certify the 2021 election.”
