New Jersey Expands Access to Reproductive Health Care, Adopts New Rules from Unanimous Vote by State Board of Medical Examiners
overnor Phil Murphy announced expanded access to reproductive health care in New Jersey with the adoption of new rules published in the New Jersey Register. In October 2021, the State Board of Medical Examiners unanimously voted to adopt new rules to eliminate medically unnecessary regulations on abortion and open new avenues for reproductive healthcare services across the state.

Murphy Administration Announces RFEI for Project to Create the First Autonomous Vehicle-Based Urban Transit System in America
Governor Phil Murphy and New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) Commissioner Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti announced an Request for Expressions of Interest (RFEI) for the Trenton Mobility & Opportunity: Vehicles Equity System (MOVES) Project.
“Since taking office, we have worked relentlessly towards making New Jersey the innovation center of America,” said Governor Murphy. “There is perhaps no initiative that embodies this goal more than the Trenton MOVES project, which will attract tech talent from around the country and the world with the mission of creating an autonomous vehicle-based transit system in our Capitol that will provide a new, affordable transportation solution for underserved areas of Trenton. This is an exciting project with immense potential and I look forward to the day that the first vehicle hits the road.”

NJ TRANSIT Upgrades Access Link Fleet with New Minibuses and Hybrid Sedans
he NJ TRANSIT Board of Directors approved the purchase of 258 cutaway minibuses for Access Link service, allowing Access Link to modernize its aging fleet. In addition, this year, NJ TRANSIT has added 80 new hybrid sedans to replace older sedans and expand the fleet.
“These new vehicles are of critical importance to the continued safe, reliable and efficient operation of NJ TRANSIT’s indispensable Access Link service,” said NJ TRANSIT President & CEO Kevin S. Corbett. “As a complement to the technology upgrades we’ve introduced through Access Link Online and our new, dedicated Access Link mobile app, these new vehicles represent our continued commitment to modernizing service delivery for our Access Link customers.”

NJEDA Supports Residential Redevelopment of Historic Paterson Property
The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) has announced the approval of support for the purchase and renovation of Hamilton Square, a 68-unit mill-style, two building apartment community located in the Great Falls Historic District of Paterson.
“The decision by Governor Phil Murphy and the Legislature to extend the ERG program is enabling projects that will help communities and residents hit hardest by the pandemic recover while programs created by the ERA take shape,” said NJEDA Chief Executive Officer Tim Sullivan. “This project upholds several of the policy goals established under the ERA, particularly those that uplift our most vulnerable citizens by providing affordable and accessible housing options for veterans, and those with disabilities.”

Key economic report numbers indicate that the New Jersey Tourism industry enjoyed a strong bounce-back summer at the Jersey Shore and beyond in 2021, as towns and businesses continued a steady pandemic recovery.
