Governor Murphy and Treasurer Muoio Announce More Than 800,000 New Jerseyans to Receive ANCHOR Rebate
Governor Phil Murphy and Treasurer Elizabeth Maher Muoio announced that the first batch of ANCHOR Property Tax Relief rebate payments went out to New Jerseyans who elected their rebate via direct deposit this week.
More than 800,000 New Jersey taxpayers were eligible to receive a direct deposit of their ANCHOR rebate payment this week. Following the issuance of the direct deposit payments, paper checks will begin to be mailed during the first week of April, in batches of mailings.
“At a time when families are facing increasing pressure on their wallets, it’s a good feeling to know we are following through on our promise to make New Jersey more affordable,” said Governor Murphy. “This is real relief getting sent to more of our hardworking taxpayers than ever before, proof that a future we are determined to make more affordable and full of opportunity is possible.
“When the Governor and the Legislature created the ANCHOR program, we knew it would be a game changer for residents all over the State,” said Treasurer Muoio. “I’m so pleased that money is going back into the pockets of more New Jerseyans than ever before.”

Governor Murphy Signs Legislation Allowing Certain Veterans to Keep Special Military License Plates Upon Conclusion of Service
Governor Phil Murphy signed a bill (A-4298) into law to allow veterans who have completed at least six years of service with a military reserve unit to keep special license plates identifying them as a member of the military following the conclusion of their service.
“Veterans who dedicated years of their lives to serving our country deserve our respect and appreciation,” said Governor Murphy. “Allowing veterans to keep the license plates that identify their military service upon the conclusion of their time in a military reserve unit is one way our state can honor that service.”
“The Motor Vehicle Commission is proud to play a part in recognizing military service in New Jersey with special license plates,” said Motor Vehicles Commission Acting Chief Administrator Latrecia Littles-Floyd. “This legislation signals to veterans that the time they’ve served is valued and cherished. Importantly, it helps underscore that their extraordinary contributions to our country are enduring — extending far beyond their time in uniform.”
“As we seek to support Service Members who have concluded their military service, this change allows us to honor their time in uniform,” said U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Lisa J. Hou, D.O., The Adjutant General of New Jersey and Commissioner of Veterans Affairs. “This is yet one more step toward demonstrating that New Jersey is committed to doing just that.”

New Jersey National Guard Signs Partnership Agreement with Republic of Cyprus National Guard
Leaders of the New Jersey National Guard and the Republic of Cyprus National Guard formalized their State Partnership Program collaboration at the Presidential Palace in Nicosia, capitol of the Eastern Mediterranean nation. The signing ceremony establishes the second formal partnership between New Jersey and another nation’s military – enhancing security cooperation between partners, promoting diplomatic ties, encouraging economic development, and strengthening natural disaster and emergency response.
Through the U.S. Department of Defense’s State Partnership Program over the past 30 years, National Guard units throughout the United States have conducted military-to-military engagements guided by the U.S. State Department’s foreign policy goals. New Jersey’s other National Guard partnership with the Republic of Albania has been ongoing for 22 years, helping to enhance cooperation between the partners and advance important national security objectives.
“It is my distinct honor to recognize the beginning of this special military relationship between the New Jersey National Guard and the Republic of Cyprus National Guard,” said New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. “For three decades, the State Partnership Program has demonstrated success all over the world, and I have every confidence that ours will be a rewarding endeavor as well.”

On International Transgender Day of Visibility, Governor Murphy Announces the Launch of New Transgender Information Hub
Governor Phil Murphy and Chief Innovation Officer Beth Simone Noveck announced, on International Transgender Day of Visibility, the launch of Transgender.NJ.gov—a new, one-stop hub designed to aid New Jersey’s transgender and non-binary community in finding information about essential programs and services.
“Across the country, the transgender and non-binary community often face barriers to accessing needed services. In New Jersey, we must ensure that we are leading the nation by making a concerted effort to streamline and simplify access to important services, programs, and protections,” said Governor Murphy. “Transgender.NJ.gov is a critical step to making information more transparent and easier to access, while improving the delivery of services to this community that deserves full and equal treatment and protection.”
“When building programs and services for New Jerseyans, we must ensure that we’re building with the communities we’re serving – not just for them,” said New Jersey State Chief Innovation Officer Beth Simone Noveck. “As we iteratively improve Transgender.NJ.gov to make it increasingly reflective of the transgender and non-binary community’s needs, we look forward to continuing to work hand-in-hand with the New Jerseyans who will benefit from this site.”

First Lady Tammy Murphy Announces Recipients of Green Jobs Council NJ BRIDGE Initiative Grant Award
First Lady Tammy Murphy, joined by the Executive Director of the Council on the Green Economy, Jane Cohen, this week hosted a roundtable to announce the recipients of the Green Jobs Council’s $5 million NJ Building our Resilient, Inclusive, and Diverse Green Economy (BRIDGE) Initiative grant award. In addition to the First Lady and Executive Director Cohen, panelists included representatives from each grant award recipient organization, which represent a variety of green economic sectors. Each organization is working to advance the Council on the Green Economy's mission of building a diverse, inclusive workforce to support the Administration’s clean energy goals.
To address recommendations in the 2022 Green Jobs for a Sustainable Future report, the Governor’s Office of Climate Action and the Green Economy (OCAGE), in collaboration with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protections (DEP), announced the NJ BRIDGE Initiative's $5 million funding opportunity to go towards organizations with innovative approaches to building and supporting a diverse, inclusive green workforce for all New Jerseyans.
“I am thrilled to recognize the recipients of the Green Jobs Council’s NJ BRIDGE Initiative grant award whose contributions catalyze and support successful models to expand our green economy opportunities for the many unique communities in our state,” said First Lady Tammy Murphy, who also serves as Honorary Chair to the Council on the Green Economy. “The threat of the climate crisis is serious and there is no doubt we have already begun to feel its effects, but we are on our way to making significant changes that will help us mitigate its worst effects all while growing our economy, creating jobs, and helping us reach our social justice goals.”
