Governor Murphy and New Jersey Health Commissioner Outline Expanded Monkeypox Vaccine Eligibility, Availability

Governor Phil Murphy and New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) Commissioner Judith Persichilli today announced expanded eligibility for the monkeypox vaccine and the State’s distribution plan for the 2,700 available doses. The vaccine was previously available to residents with known exposure to a monkeypox case. Going forward, the JYNNEOS vaccine will also be available to New Jerseyans who are at high risk of having been exposed to the virus in the past 14 days. There are currently 45 probable and confirmed cases of the virus in New Jersey.

Murphy Administration Provides Over $794 Million in Funding for New Jersey’s Hospitals

The New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH) today released the fiscal year 2023 hospital Charity Care, Graduate Medical Education (GME), and Graduate Medical Education Supplemental (GME-S) funding distributions. This is part of over $794 million in hospital funding provided in the FY2023 Appropriations Act signed by Governor Murphy on Thursday.

Statement from Governor Murphy and Commissioner Persichilli on Authorization of COVID-19 Vaccines for Children Ages 6 Months Through 5 Years

On June 17, the FDA authorized the Pfizer vaccine for children 6 months of age to 4 years of age and the Moderna vaccine for children 6 months through 5 years of age.  Today, the CDC announced its recommendation that enables everyone 6 months of age and older to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
