Preferred Specimen Type: Serum or CSF for respective tests

Accepted Specimen Types: Serum or CSF for respective tests

Volume Requirements: Acute and convalescent human serum: at least 1ml, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF): at least 0.5ml accompanied with serum sample.

Storage Temperature: Store all diagnostic serum specimens at 2-8C prior to testing for up to 7 days. Storage longer than 7 days at 2-8C is not recommended. Serum samples requiring storage for more than 7 days prior to testing should be frozen at -20C or lower.

Transport Requirements: Ship refrigerated specimens on ice packs to maintain 2-8C. Ship frozen specimens on dry ice.
