As a Work First New Jersey participant, you will develop an Individual Responsibility Plan (IRP). Your caseworker will prepare the IRP with you, after it is determined that you are eligible for WFNJ assistance.
The purpose of the IRP is to create specific employment goals and work activities for you.
The IRP will also:
identify the support services that you may receive through the Work First program, such as child care services, transportation assistance or assistance with other work-related expenses;
identify any problems you may have that might interfere with your ability to get a job, such as a drug or alcohol problem, language barrier, poor reading skills, or a physical or mental disability.
Together, you and your caseworker will prepare a plan that will help you move off public assistance, develop the skills you need to get and keep a job and be able to provide a better life for yourself and your family!
