        -News Release-

WHIPPANY, September 7, 2011 _ Commissioner Harold J. Wirths spoke of  efforts by the administration of Governor Chris Christie and the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD) to aid businesses and help them create jobs as he met with the Community Relations Committee of the United Jewish Communities of MetroWest Rabbinic Cabinet.

The Commissioner also discussed enhancements made to Jobs4Jersey.com, the department website that allows job-seekers to upload or create resumes and receive employment notices via e-mail. Additionally, he outlined the department’s new Talent Networks, which are tapping the business community to learn more about the skills they need in prospective employees. In turn, training schools and educational institutions will know how to adjust their curriculums to better steer people toward more promising careers.

The round-table discussion, held at the Alex Aidekman Family Jewish Community Campus, included Michelle Moallem, the Governor’s Liaison to the Jewish Community; David Lentz, chairman of the Community Relations Committee of Metrowest, and Rabbi Mark Mallach, chairman of the United Jewish Communities Rabbinic Cabinet.

Rabbi Mallach, right, thanked Commissioner Wirths, left, for speaking at the gathering. Directly behind the Commissioner is Melanie Roth Gorelick, director of the Community Relations Committee, and in the background is Michelle Moallem, the Governor’s Liaison to the Jewish Community.
