        -News Release-

MONROE TOWNSHIP, Sept. 21, 2011 _ Commissioner Harold J. Wirths of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD) talked with members of the New Jersey Business and Industry (NJBIA) about improving business and creating jobs under Governor Chris Christie’s administration.

Noting more than 54,000 private sector jobs have been created since Governor Christie’s first full month in office, Commissioner Wirths and Assistant Commissioner of Workforce Development Mary Ellen Clark talked of initiatives launched by the LWD over the past 20 months. They touted Jobs4Jersey.com, a one-stop portal to link employers with New Jersey’s talented workforce, and the newly formed Talent Networks, which are designed to allow employers communicate what skills they need in prospective employees.

The morning, round-table meeting was hosted by the NJBIA’s Employment and Labor Policy Committee at the Forsgate Country Club.

Pictured in the photograph, from left to right, are Assistant Commissioner Mary Ellen Clark; JoAnn Trezza, chairwoman of the NJBIA’s Employment and Labor Policy Committee; Commissioner Harold J. Wirths and Stefanie Riehl, Assistant Vice President at NJBIA.
