“We commend Assemblyman Bucco for offering the public yet another port of access to this important program. Every job-seeker should have a resume or multiple resumes in Jobs4Jersey.com, and every business looking for talent should be using this service. It is unique, it is technologically advanced and most of all it is free,” said Commissioner Wirths.
Jobs4Jersey.com is an online portal the administration of Governor Chris Christie created to offer valuable tools, tips and information to job-seekers and employers, alike. It now features OnRamp, which is a state-of the-art search engine that helps job-seekers find jobs and employers find workers with the skills they need to remain competitive in an uncertain market.
LWD has worked to promote Jobs4Jersey.com through libraries, educational institutions and other public agencies that offer public access to computers. Assemblyman Bucco is the first state legislator to offer Jobs4Jersey.com through a legislative office.
“Sometimes it is taken for granted that everyone has Internet access at home or lives close enough to a library to conduct a job search,” said Assemblyman Bucco.
“Commissioner Wirths and his staff have been extremely supportive and helpful in implementing the Jobs4Jersey.com program in our district office. Providing constituents with another resource to access information about training programs and job openings is an important part of an elected official’s responsibility,” the Assemblyman explained.
The OnRamp tool at Jobs4Jersey.com is unique because it matches job-seekers to jobs by focusing on skills, not job titles, and it rates each match while alerting customers via e-mail. Job-seekers may upload an existing resume into OnRamp, and have the system analyze, enhance and refine the resume, or allow OnRamp to build a resume for them through a series of simple questions.
Jobs4Jersey.com also offers advice to employers looking to recruit workers, and the OnRamp tool was just expanded to give employers the same robust, state-of-the-art technology offered to job-seekers to help businesses find skilled workers.
Assemblyman Bucco’s district office is located at 1040 Route 10 West, 1st Floor, Randolph and is open to visitors from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
