“It’s privilege to work with everyone associated with the Monmouth County WIB. The WIB provides an important service to the community and has always been a terrific partner in helping my department connect job-seekers with employers who are in search of new talent,” said Commissioner Wirths.
One of five partners issued honors by the WIB, Commissioner Wirths received the award during a ceremony at McLoone’s Pier House in Long Branch. The WIB’s Partnership Awards were established in 1992 to recognize leaders from Business, Community Service, Education, Government, and Organized Labor who have contributed to Monmouth County’s social and economic successes.
Assistant Commissioner Mary Ellen Clark won the 2012 Government Partner Award.
The other four honorees included Solar City (Business); Asbury Park Community Development Youth Initiative (Community Service); Barry Semple (Education), and Eric Houghtaling (Organized Labor). The Monmouth County WIB directs the delivery of education, employment and training programs to county residents and businesses.
“These partners have dedicated themselves to helping develop a world class workforce right here in Monmouth County,” said Monmouth County Freeholder Deputy Director Serena DiMaso, liaison to the county’s Division of Workforce Development.
Proceeds from the April 18 event supported the WIB’s Scholarship Fund, which provides scholarships to the Brookdale Community College Foundation to assist low income students attending Brookdale Community College.
