MOUNT ARLINGTON, N.J., September 18, 2015 – Commissioner Harold J. Wirths of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development addressed local officials at the Morris County League of Municipalities meeting held at the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club in Mt. Arlington recently.
Commissioner Wirths shared information on the state’s economic picture and emphasized the importance of watching long-term employment trends, rather than preliminary monthly employment data. He also highlighted the department’s anti-fraud actions that have worked to get the unemployment insurance trust fund more than $1 billion in the black.
The more than 70 local officials in attendance also had an opportunity to hear Commissioner Wirths review the Morris County employment picture noting key areas of growth in the region.
