HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ, October 7, 2015 – Today Commissioner Harold J. Wirths of the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development highlighted the department’s initiatives at the Human Resources and Labor Summit sponsored by the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey at the Hilton Hasbrouck Heights. 

 

Addressing the approximately 70 business leaders in attendance, Commissioner Wirths gave an overview of the department’s services available to New Jersey businesses including how businesses can apply for competitive customized grant programs to train their staffs, apply for tax credits by hiring job-seekers with employment barriers and take advantage of the information available on the department’s Jobs4Jersey.com website to find employees or list open positions.

 

Commissioner Wirths also shared information on the state’s economic picture, provided an overview of new legislation affecting business owners, and highlighted the department’s anti-fraud actions that have worked to get the unemployment insurance trust fund $1 billion in the black.
