TRENTON, NJ, November 1, 2017 – The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD) launched a new web application for filing wage claims. Workers who believe they have not been properly paid by their employers can now file a claim online. Until now, claims could only be filed by mail or fax. The new online method will reduce claim processing time and help the Department expedite investigations. The new system also allows claimants to provide more information and supporting documents when filing wage claims.
 
“We are pleased to offer this convenient and efficient service to the public which will help speed up the claim process. It gives workers the flexibility to file anytime, from anywhere,” said Director Robert Gaines of LWD’s Division of Wage & Hour Compliance Division.
 
Enhancements will continue to be made to the system so that workers will be able to check on the status of their claims online in real time.
