Absecon Man Arrested for Sexual Assault
of Boy on Camping Trip
Bass River, Burlington County, NJ – A joint investigation has resulted in the arrest of an Atlantic County man for the sexual assault of a juvenile boy during a camping trip in Burlington County. New Jersey State Police detectives and investigators from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office yesterday charged Brian Killion, 37 of Absecon City with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Killion was lodged in Burlington County jail on $250,000 full cash bail.
The assault was reported to the New Jersey State Park Police by the victim’s mother following a late June camping trip Killion took with two boys (both under 13 years of age) in Bass River State Park. Killion is accused of sexually assaulting the one boy in view of the other while in a tent. The camping trip was with the consent of the boys’ parents.
Yesterday, State Police detectives, members of the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and Absecon City Police Department executed a search warrant on Killion’s home on North Shore Road. Numerous pieces of electronic and computer storage media were seized for examination by the Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory at the Hamilton (Mercer County) Technology Center. Previews of the equipment at the scene revealed images of child pornography, and an investigation by Absecon P.D. is continuing.
Anyone with additional information that could forward this investigation is asked to contact State Police Detective Anthony Mason at 609-296-3132.
Killion’s first appearance is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. today at the Burlington County Superior Court.
