Press Releases: Youth Campers to the Rescue

The National Guard Youth Camp is held at Sea Girt National Guard Training Center every July. This year the campers have volunteered to help maintain the museum, repainting the exterior of the building and restoring the past unit insignias of NJNG divisions displayed there.

The photo shows Jasmine Lewis, a 17 year old senior at Burlington City high school. Jasmine’s father is a National Guardsman and she is one of the junior counselors at the camp. She is also a very talented artist, as she repainted the “Carteret Lion” insignia, a tricky job.

The paint and equipment for the job were donated by Home Depot, facilitated by Home Depot employee Dana Denster, a camp volunteer.
