Keep in mind that it is unlawful under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Law (N.J.S.A. 56:8-2.1) for any person or business entity to operate under a name or in such a manner, wrongfully implying that such person or business entity is associated with any department or agency of the state of New Jersey or any of its political subdivisions. Businesses may not use the seal, insignia, envelope or other format that may imply association.
