TRENTON – Effectively immediately, the Paterson Regional/Licensing Center is closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has announced. The Paterson Regional/Licensing Center will reopen Saturday, November 14.
The employee who tested positive was last in the Paterson Center on Friday, October 30.
Other MVC Centers in Rahway, Washington, and West Deptford remain closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19 at each location.
The Rahway Licensing Center and Washington Vehicle Center will both reopen Saturday, November 7. The West Deptford Regional/Licensing Center will reopen Thursday, November 12.
Upon closure due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19, Centers are cleaned and remain closed until contact tracers have cleared enough employees to reopen or any required quarantine is complete.
Additionally, all MVC facilities, including Licensing and Vehicle Centers, Regional Service Centers, road testing sites, and inspection stations, will be closed for the Election Day holiday tomorrow, Tuesday, November 3, 2020.
Customers also are reminded that ten MVC Vehicle Centers have begun service on an appointment-only basis. Starting today, these appointment-only locations are:
Customers should visit NJMVC.gov before heading out to an MVC facility for the latest updates and to verify they need to visit an MVC location at all. Recent changes at the MVC mean only a few transactions require an in-person visit to an MVC Center. At the website, customers can complete transactions like license and registration renewals, make appointments for select transactions, and much more.
