CUSTOMER ADVISORY

Runnemede Vehicle Center, Oakland Licensing Center Closed Due to Positive Tests of Employees for COVID-19

TRENTON – Effective immediately, the Runnemede Vehicle Center and the Oakland Licensing Center are closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19 in each Center, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has announced. The Runnemede Center will reopen Tuesday, November 17, and the Oakland Center will reopen Friday, November 13.

Other MVC Centers in Paterson, Rahway, Washington, and West Deptford remain closed due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19 at each location.

The Rahway Licensing Center and Washington Vehicle Center will both reopen Saturday, November 7.

The West Deptford Regional/Licensing Center will reopen Thursday, November 12, and the Paterson Regional/Licensing Center will reopen Saturday, November 14.

Upon closure due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19, Centers are cleaned and remain closed until contact tracers have cleared enough employees to reopen or any required quarantine is complete.

Customers also are reminded that ten MVC Vehicle Centers have begun service on an appointment-only basis. As of Monday, November 2, these appointment-only locations are:

  • Cherry Hill
  • Hazlet
  • Jersey City
  • Lakewood
  • Manahawkin
  • Medford
  • Somerville
  • Springfield
  • Turnersville
  • Wallington

Customers should visit NJMVC.gov before heading out to an MVC facility for the latest updates and to verify they need to visit an MVC location at all. Recent changes at the MVC mean only a few transactions require an in-person visit to an MVC Center. At the website, customers can complete transactions like license and registration renewals, make appointments for select transactions, and much more.
