CUSTOMER ADVISORY

Freehold MVC Only Serving Customers by Appointment on Saturday, November 7

TRENTON – On Saturday, November 7, the Freehold Licensing Center will be appointment-only due to staffing issues, the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has announced. No walk-ins will be allowed this Saturday.

The staffing issues at the Freehold Licensing Center are unrelated to COVID-19. The Center will honor existing appointments for driver knowledge tests, CDL renewals, and other transactions on November 7, but will not provide walk-in service on that day.

The Freehold Inspection Station does not require appointments and will remain open and fully operational on November 7.

The Freehold Licensing Center will return to full service, including walk-ins, on Monday, November 9.

Customers also are reminded that ten MVC Vehicle Centers are now exclusively serving customers on an appointment-only basis. These appointment-only locations are:

  1. Cherry Hill
  2. Hazlet
  3. Jersey City
  4. Lakewood
  5. Manahawkin
  6. Medford
  7. Somerville
  8. Springfield
  9. Turnersville
  10. Wallington

Customers should visit NJMVC.gov before heading out to an MVC facility for the latest updates and to verify they need to visit an MVC location at all. Recent changes at the MVC mean only a few transactions require an in-person visit to an MVC Center. At the website, customers can complete transactions like license and registration renewals, make appointments for select transactions, and much more.
